Commercial Airports: What is the closest commercial airport to Chico? Gallatin Field Airport
(BZN) located near Belgrade and Bozeman, Montana, is the closest commercial airport. The airport offers
flights on five airlines: Delta, Horizon, Northwest, United Express, and Big Sky Airlines. Gallatin
Field Airport is 59 miles from Chico Hot Springs and takes approximately one hour and fifteen minutes
to travel.
Local Airports: Where can I land if I want to fly in my own plane? Paradise
Valley Flying Service is located within 10 miles of Chico and has a 6000 foot landing strip. The former
runway / landing strip at Chico has been closed due to residential growth in our area.
Camping/RV: Does Chico have camping or RV sites? Chico does not have camping or RV sites and we do
not allow overnight camping in tents or RV's on the property. Please visit our

Dining: Does Chico have dining facilities on property? Chico offers two restaurants: The Main Dining
Room serves breakfast and dinner seven days a week, reservations are recommended for dinner, Percies Poolside

History: Can you tell me about the history of Chico? Chico Hot Springs first opened as a hotel in June 1900
under the ownership of Bill and Percie Knowles. Please read our

Hot Springs: What information can you tell me about the hot springs? Chico Hot Springs has two open air
mineral hot springs pools which are open from 8:00 am to midnight daily (open at 6:00 am for hotel guests).
The larger swimming pool has an average temperature of 96 degrees Fahrenheit and the smaller soaking pool has
an average temperature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Pool passes are included with guest accommodations, and there
is a daily entry fee for non-hotel day guests. Visit our

Internet: Is there internet access at Chico? Chico Hot Springs has internet access in several areas.
There is wireless access in the Main Lodge Lobby, the Chico Saloon, and the Lower Lodge rooms and Boardroom.
There are high speed Ethernet connections in the Warren Wing, Fisherman's Lodge, and Convention Center.
Laundry: Does Chico have a guest Laundromat? Chico does not have a Laundromat on the property, but
there is a Laundromat just three miles from the Resort at Emigrant.

Music Schedule: I've heard there is music every weekend, what is the live entertainment schedule?
We do have bands in the saloon every Friday and Saturday night. Check out our

Nearest Town: What Montana towns are close to Chico? Emigrant (pop. 309) and Pray (pop. 85) are each
about three miles from Chico. Livingston (pop. 7062) is 23 miles North of Chico, Gardiner (pop. 1774) is
approximately 35 miles South of Chico, and Bozeman (pop. 27,509) is the nearest "city" at approximately 51
miles from Chico.
Owners: Who owns Chico Hot Springs? Chico Hot Springs has been owned by Mike and Eve Art and their
daughters Andy and Jackie since they purchased the resort in 1973.
Pets: Can we bring our pets with us to Chico? Yes, your well behaved pets are welcome to stay in most
of our guest accommodations. We charge a $10 per pet per stay fee and ask that you do not leave your pets
unattended in your vehicle, rooms, or outside. Pick up bags are available throughout the property, and we
do ask that you clean up after your pets.
Reservations: How do I make reservations? We are currently are not offering online reservations,
but please
contact our guest services department and they will personally assist you
in making reservations.
Room Rates: Can you give me a list of room rates? Chico Hot Springs offers accommodations from $39 to

Room Service: Does Chico have room service? Chico dining facilities do not offer room service, but
the Poolside Grille will prepare your order "to go" upon your request.
Shopping: What kind of shopping is there in the area? We want you to visit our
Gift Shop and Espresso Bar where the staff will warmly welcome you! There are also a variety of unique
shops on Main Street in Livingston and Gardiner as well as throughout Yellowstone Park.
Tax: Is there sales tax at Chico Hot Springs? The only tax you will encounter at Chico is a 7% lodging tax,
which is in addition to your nightly room rate.
Telephones: Do you have telephones in the rooms? We do not have telephones in most of our rooms, however
there are phones in the houses/cottages/chalets and the North 40 cabins. Select cellular service is available
on much of the property, there are pay telephones near the Main Lodge, and house phones for local or calling card
calls are located in the Main Lodge lobby.
Transportation: How do we travel to Chico from the airport? Because of our fairly remote location, we
recommend that you rent a car for travel to and from the airport and to have available to you during your visit.

Weather: What will the weather be like during my stay? There is a joke amongst Montanans that says if
you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes and it will change. The average highs and lows for each month
are listed in degrees Fahrenheit. January 33/14, February 39/18, March 46/23, April 56/29, May 64/37,
June 73/44, July 80/48, August 80/47, September 69/40, October 58/32, November 42/24, December 34/16.

Yellowstone Park: How close is Chico to Yellowstone National Park? Chico is only about 35 miles North
of the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park (at Gardiner, MT). It takes approximately 45 minutes to
travel this distance on Highway 89.
